Position
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Librarian based at Woodland View, which is on the grounds of Ayrshire Central Hospital.
What you will do:
We are seeking a dynamic, engaged and self-motivated Assistant Librarian to join our small library team, providing a high quality, responsive library and knowledge management service in support of the delivery and continuous improvement of safe, effective, person-centred care.
You will be passionate about delivering an excellent user experience and driven to support the information needs of multidisciplinary health and social care staff and students, contributing to the knowledge sharing culture across NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
You will work closely with library managers to answer a range of user enquiries quickly and accurately, undertaking literature searches using specialist databases and online resources as well as providing one-to-one training on their use. You will also contribute to marketing the service, outreach events and maintaining the library collection, as well as handling day to day front line Library tasks.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You will need to have excellent organisational skills, be confident communicating with stakeholders of all levels of seniority in both 121 scenarios and in large groups. You will be educated to degree level and be a qualified librarian. You will enjoy building cross functional working relationships with other teams and be capable of working on your own initiative and as part of a small team.
You will also possesses High level database/ internet technology skills. This role requires you to have the ability provide one to one training and have an professional and adaptable approach to working. Furthermore you must have good interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate with a wide range of clients and professional. You will have team working skills and the ability to collaborate effectively, and have the ability to work on own initiative. A car driver is desirable but not essential.
