Pharmacy Support Worker – Primary Care Pharmacy (Ref: 181829)
Fixed term for 18 Months
Full Time 37.5 hours per week
Band 3 - Salary Range £25,468 - £27,486 per annum plus
Distant Island Allowance of £2,256 per annum
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our pharmacy team, as a pharmacy support worker (PSW) in Primary Care Pharmacy.
We are a fast evolving team, striving to deliver pharmacy services to meet the needs of patients living across Shetland in innovative ways.
The PSW fulfils a vital role within the pharmacy team and will help deliver an enhanced pharmacy service and be involved in supporting the delivery of the pharmacotherapy service to our health centres.
The post holder will be based within our pharmacy hub, with day-to-day responsibilities including, dealing with medicines related queries, carrying out medicines related tasks following protocols as well as administrative tasks and being the communication liaison for the primary care pharmacy team.
This role requires the post holder to work towards a vocational training programme: SVQ in Pharmacy Services (SCQF Level 6).
This contract is for a fixed-term for eighteen months. The reason for the fixed-term contract is NHS Shetland are to be one of the four demonstrator sites for the Primary Care Phased Investment Programme (PCPIP) Primary Care Phased Investment Programme - Primary Care Phased Investment Programme (ihub.scot). We are therefore in a position to expand the primary care pharmacy team to improve implementation of the GMS contract-pharmacotherapy.
