An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join NHS Tayside’s Digital Programme Office.NHS Tayside has recently developed their Digital Strategy and at the heart of this lies an ambition to develop a modern Electronic Patient Record (EPR), alongside modernising the application and technical estate.

This is an exciting time to join NHS Tayside’s Digital Directorate Programme Office as it will play a key role in supporting the ambitions set out in this new strategy.

As a Business Analyst you will work closely with all levels of staff across the organisation and be responsible for gathering user and business requirements (both functional and non-functional), documenting these accurately to ensure all requirements are valid and traceable.

What are we looking for: -

As a Business Analyst you should fit the following criteria: -

  • Experience in the composition of user stories and acceptance criteria, process maps, GAP Analysis, Option Appraisals and UAT scripts
  • Expertise in selecting different business analysis techniques appropriate and relevant to the scope of work
  • Ability to work with business areas to define business benefits, creating benefits maps and introducing measures to baseline; tracking and reporting progress against targets, to measure performance and value
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proven track record of business analysis experience in an IT setting (NHS experience would be advantageous)

You will have a degree of autonomy within the role, working as part of a team and reporting to the Digital Programme Office Senior Project Manager/Team Leader. 

This is a permanent, full-time post (37.5 hrs per week) within the Digital Directorate, currently based at Maryfield House, Dundee; however, location may change in the future.

 Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland” 2009, and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
