A rare opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician Specialist Team Lead to work within the Homecare/ Purchasing team at the Pharmacy Distribution Centre. The Pharmacy Technician Specialist Team Lead is responsible for ensuring safe working practices and supply of medicines. They will be responsible for the governance aspects of Homecare Services across Greater Glasgow & Clyde and lead the Homecare Team. As a senior member of the team you will contribute to the strategic and operational planning of service delivery and be responsible for financial, staff resources, education and training for technical and support staff, workforce rotas and contingency planning for the local service.

The post holder will have relevant Homecare experience and will work collaboratively with the pharmacy purchasing team and clinical pharmacists to achieve a cohesive approach to homecare medicines initiatives and optimise the cost effective use of homecare medicines within the acute setting. Homecare provider engagement, medicines expenditure data analysis and Pharmacy representation at clinic review meetings make this an exciting opportunity to apply your knowledge, skills and experience. You must be confident to lead and work independently as part of a team interchangeably. You will have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills as you will provide day to day leadership and support for our large and friendly pharmacy team. This post is an excellent opportunity for individuals wanting to develop their skills in leadership and management as we encourage and support staff development via local and national training programs and appraisals as well as providing you with opportunities to use your own initiative to promote CPD.

This position will support your personal development and provide you with the opportunity to facilitate the innovation and changing practices in line with the pharmacy strategy and vision. You will work with a team who strive to develop pharmacy services using quality improvement methodology to demonstrate service improvement.

Candidates must be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Health Council with an NC in Pharmaceutical Science (or equivalent), HNC Pharmacy Services or equivalent management qualification, A1 Assessor or equivalent qualification 3 years post qualification experience providing a broad understanding of a range of technical practice and include staff management.  They must hold an Accredited Checking Technician Qualification.

 Training will be given to the successful candidate.
