The shift pattern is Monday-Friday 37.5 hours.
The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital are looking to recruit Health Care Support Worker in our Recovery/Same Day Admission Unit. Our specialties include Major General Surgery, Urology, Renal, Vascular, Orthopaedics including spinal, ENT, Gynaecology, Trauma and Emergencies.
You will support the Registered Practitioners carry out their Admission/discharge duties in the Same Day Admission/Recovery department. A caring disposition preferably with experience working within a caring environment is preferred together with the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience of taking patient observations/ECG’s and Venepuncture & Cannulation skills would be highly desirable for this post. You will have effective written and verbal communication and numeracy skills and the ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Ability to undertake and complete competency based training programme for Health Care Support Workers including meeting the Health Care Support Worker Mandatory Induction Standards and adhering to the Code of Conduct. You will be required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service which presently runs over a seven day week and operates a 24 hour service. Ability to be flexible with shift pattern is essential. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde South Sector in order to achieve the needs of the service. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
