Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is Monday-Sunday.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within this progressive service for a permanent, full time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work within Gartnavel General Hospital, as part of the North Sector. You would be part of our busy department treating a wide variety of inpatients across acute wards within GGH and the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The post also includes involvement in video-fluoroscopy clinics and providing input to outpatients within their own environment.

This is an opportunity to develop skills in acute/rehab wards, and domiciliary settings, working within a great team of SLTs, Healthcare Support Workers and administrative staff who are motivated to achieve the best possible outcomes for all clients/carers. We welcome applicants who are keen to participate in delivering innovative assessment and therapy approaches within the above settings to join our forward thinking, supportive Speech and Language Therapy team.

It is essential that you have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration and must be trained in the assessment and management of adult dysphagia. Level 2 video-fluoroscopy experience is desirable. A car driver is essential. The successful candidate will be required to participate in our pioneering weekend working rota and have the opportunity to volunteer for our public holiday rota.
