NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is rotational 24/7, early, late and nights (37.5 hours).
RAH In-patient Theatres.
Band 5 Theatre Practitioner, Full Time permanent posts (x3).
The unit consists of 9 operating theatres, and a 12 bed recovery room. The unit provides operative care for patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures including, Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, obstetric anaesthetics and both elective and trauma Orthopaedics. In addition to this and new for 2022 the theatre team undertake the Clyde colorectal robotic list.
All posts will have a base location initially in either anaesthetics, recovery or scrub and will then rotate around the specialties following the in house training model.
In addition to having current NMC/HCPC registration applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated and have an interest of working in the peri-operative environment. Previous experience within the peri-operative environment, is a definite advantage, however full training will be provided with in house perioperative educator support.
The department offers team support and continuing education opportunities, both delivered across GG&C and at Glasgow Caledonia University.

The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs over a 7 day week, 365 days of the year, including night shift. Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected where absolutely necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
