What you will do:
As a registered General Nurse working within the renal unit setting you will gain experience in all aspects of caring for a chronic renal patient and carrying out their renal replacement therapy. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Knowledge and skills of working in a dialysis unit within Ayrshire and Arran is essential. Good manual dexterity is essential as you will be inserting dialysis needles and working with permanent lines and setting up dialysis machines.
The renal unit offers a commitment to lifelong learning and the candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development through the education programme developed by the renal practice development nurse. Staff member has to be involved in research and development and maintaining best practice and needs to be able to show evidence of personal development.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
- You will be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Working knowledge of Ayrshire and Arrans policies and Procedures.
- Ability to keep relevant skills / knowledge updated and documented.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to supervise and provide a mentorship role to students and junior staff.
- A commitment to lifelong learning and demonstrates evidence of continuing professional development.

Hours:
18 hours per week - rotational post day or night shift
1 post is being offered on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2025
1 post is on a permanent basis
Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
Car licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
