Band 7 - Salary Range £46,244 - £53,789 per annum *

Distant Island Allowance of £2,256 per annum

Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join the Emergency Department (ED) in the Gilbert Bain Hospital.


The ANP role within ED offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced ANP to be involved in delivering person centred care while working as an autonomous practitioner. The post holder should possess a qualification in Advanced Clinical Practice, including non-medical prescribing which is essential to this role.


The post holder is required to take a complete history and perform clinical examination to diagnose and implement treatment for patients presenting with varied conditions, experience in minor injuries and aliments is an essential part of the role.


As an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will work within their scope of practice and in accordance to NHS Shetland local policies and procedures.


The post holder will act as a mentor and clinical educator to other staff members and nursing students. You will be expected to keep up to date with skills and competencies, monitor and update local policies.


Previous post registration experience in an appropriate setting is essential.


Hours of work will be full time Monday – Sunday – Days.
