We are seeking an innovative qualified Librarian to work as part of a small team serving the library and information needs of the healthcare staff and students in NHS Fife.

You will be involved in delivering, developing and promoting the full range of services and resources as well as sharing responsibility for the day-to-day running of the library at Victoria Hospital, other library sites and supervising the Library Assistant.

You will be working to support a diverse range of teams and individuals to make effective use of the evidence base in healthcare. You will have a degree (or equivalent) in librarianship / information studies and preferably relevant post-qualification experience in a library environment.

Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills to support digital and online media are key requirements of the post as is the ability to prioritise your own workload and operate independently without direct supervision.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
