NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.

Fixed-Term / secondment to 30/09/2026

This is an exciting time of strategic digital change for the GP service within NHS Highland.  To support the National GP IT Re-Provisioning programme move to a cloud-based GP clinical system and cloud based electronic document management system across Scotland, the eHealth Department is looking to recruit a deployment team to support this extensive migration and transition programme.

NHS Highland is looking for an eHealth Facilitators (Primary Care) to join the existing team as they take on the deployment programme for this national GP IT change.  This post will be based in the Victoria Integrated Care Centre in Helensburgh in Argyll & Bute.

Working with healthcare professionals across the Board, the postholder will provide specialist facilitation, support and guidance in the implementation and adoption of new technologies and systems.

We are looking for highly motivated, innovative and ambitious individuals with excellent communication skills and a clear understanding of the importance of customer service.  The ability to empathise, enthuse and motivate colleagues as they adapt to resultant change to business and organisational processes, is key.

The postholder will participate in the migration planning, training, rollout and support for GP Practices in NHS Highland, as well as the ongoing business and IT process support of other Primary Care independent contractors, as required.  They will be expected to be closely involved in National Facilitation programmes in addition to NHS Highland and eHealth projects.

The core area of responsibility will be to provide highly specialised GP IT service in the technical and clinical coding work required to support clinical applications and data quality for all national digital transformation programmes.

A working knowledge of GP clinical systems and Read Coding is essential and strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary for this role.  A proven track record in providing specialised advice, training, consultation, investigation and reporting in a GP Practice setting is required
