The shift pattern is 5/7 including weekends & Public Holidays (30 hours).

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Special Feeds Unit Supervisor to join our current team, working in the Special Feeds Unit at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. The special feeds unit prepares and delivers specialised feeds and nutritional supplements to infants and children within the Royal Hospital for Children and the Neonatal units at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Princess Royal Maternity unit, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Royal Alexandra Hospital sites.

In this unique post, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the special feeds unit and 5 special feeds unit assistants to ensure the department delivers an effective and efficient service. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of 30 Paediatric Dietitians to help provide this service. The Special Feeds Unit operates 365 days per year, and you will be required to work weekends and on some Public Holidays.

You should be educated to standard grade (or equivalent) level in Mathematics and English and have basic keyboard skills. You should have experience or training in nutrition, catering or related subject, equivalent to SVQ level 3. Previous experience in healthcare systems and familiarity with NHSGGC ordering systems such as PECOS would be beneficial. You should have experience working in a team.

All training will be provided on systems and equipment used and you will have the opportunity to complete a Food Hygiene Certificate upon commencement of the post, if not achieved already.
