An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Tayside Health Visiting Service for an experienced Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - Health Visiting or equivalent qualification to apply for the post of Team Leader. We are seeking a solution focused professional Health Visitor who possesses vision and who is keen to develop self and Teams.


The successful candidate will have a key role in providing Leadership, support and guidance to Health Visitors and Early Years workers within the Service to deliver the National Health Visiting Universal Pathway to improve outcomes for children and families. You will work closely with the Senior Nurse to evidence and meet both local and national priorities.


It is essential to have a comprehensive knowledge of GIRFEC, the Children & Families (Scotland) Act 2014 and the responsibilities of the Named Person function. Within the Team Leaders role it is expected that the successful candidate will work closely with their Teams, to support, empower and develop positive, person centred and solution focused individuals and Team Cultures. In doing so, and as a Team Leader, you will be required to be located with your Teams on a regular basis. Travel between sites and across Tayside will be required.


Candidates should have experience working with vulnerable children and families and be able to provide evidence of recent postgraduate study and or be willing to undertake relevant study essential for the post.


You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register  and hold a Special Health Visiting or Public Health qualification.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
