Bayview House Care Home for Older Adults are looking for a part time Social Care Assistant to join their team.

The post will require you to work as part of a team to support vulnerable adults in a residential setting and to contribute to the movement and treatment of clients to maximise their physical comfort.

You must have the ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative, follow instructions and possess good communication skills. You must also be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and able to cope under pressure

In order to be able to carry out the duties of this post effectively and safely, candidates should be able to provide evidence of a good basic education, good written communication and report writing skills.

Previous experience in social care is desirable but not essential. Applicants are required to have SVQ 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent or to commit to be registered with the SSSC.

This is a permanent post of 9.3 hours per week working on back shift of 2 nights on 6 off on a rolling rota, however there may be the opportunity to work additional hours.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
