Procurement: System Implementation Lead

The Procurement & Logistgics team within the Scottish Ambulance Service provide an essential service in the purchasing & logistics management of essential clinical consumable products and services for the Service’s ambulance stations and sites across the country.
The Purchasing function is supported via the NHSS national P2P system: Pecos, with Stock management controlled via the Genesis system, with Logistics facilitated via our three National Logistics Hubs, located in Inverness (North), Stirling (East) and Glasgow (West).
The Procurement team are based at the Services NHQ – Gyle Square in Edinburgh, but function via hybrid working.
This post’s will be based at NHQ and will also operate in the same hybrid method, once the candidate is fully in post.
The position is based on a working week of 37 hours and is subject to agenda for change terms and conditions.
It is essential that the post holder has current or recent experience within Procurement & Logistics and advanced use of the systems outlined and or equivalent.
The post holder will also be expected to develop and carry out training sessions / presentations.

Interviews will take place in late April / early May with the post holder starting as soon as possible after that.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
