The Post:
The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role as part of NHS Scotland. NHS National Services Scotland’s mission is to enable and support the delivery of better care working in partnership. We do this by providing a range of specialized support services that enable NHS boards to focus their efforts on delivering health improvement and patient care. Suitable applicants are invited to join a hard working team in a well-equipped Blood Bank Laboratory which operates 24/7.

The Candidate:
We are currently looking for a reliable person to join our clinical laboratory team. You will be trained to carry out a range of general duties to provide vital support for the Biomedical Scientist staff in our busy Clinical Laboratories. The successful candidate should have a flexible approach to work. Previous laboratory experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. Excellent data inputting skills and fluency in the English language are essential.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

Location and Working Pattern:
Inverness Blood Transfusion Centre, Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.
The hours are 37 per week. The work pattern is Monday to Friday (0900 hours – 1700 hours).

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
