We have two exciting opportunities within NHS Grampian to join our team as Chief Nurse for the Medicine and Unscheduled Care Portfolio and Chief Nurse for the Integrated Specialist Care Services Portfolio, giving you scope to develop your knowledge and skills across a broad range of service areas. This post requires vision, innovation, and the ability to work across professional boundaries, with a real desire to lead teams to provide the highest standards of care.

NHS Grampian introduced a Portfolio approach to leadership to strengthen the relationships across the whole system. The successful individuals will provide strong and focused strategic nursing leadership and be accountable for the development, delivery and implementation of professional nursing standards, building on a Systems Leadership approach and aligning with NHS Grampian’s Plan for the Future.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the provision of the nursing workforce and nursing leadership across all services within the Portfolios in relation to developing, establishing and implementing corporate objectives, ensuring effective delivery of the NHS Grampian’s Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) Strategic Development Framework, as well as supporting local and national strategies.

The Chief Nurses will contribute to clinical, financial, and staff governance standards, ensuring clinical and care governance is embedded in the Portfolio’s culture, promoting an environment where continuous improvement is central to all quality systems and in which a learning culture, where staff growth , wellbeing, and engagement, are crucial in supporting the delivery of care.

Your personal and professional development is as important, within an influential role that will lead and implement on aspects of several key strategic developments across the Portfolio including delivery of the Annual Delivery Plan.

We are seeking passionate and inspiring individuals who have a strong clinical nursing background along with demonstrable management experience.  You will demonstrate exemplary leadership, be highly motivated and inspirational to local and wider teams, and have a positive attitude with a passion for clinical excellence and improving person centred care.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they can embrace NHS Grampian’s vision and values to drive transformational change and innovation for the benefit of the population of Grampian.
