NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. 

The shift pattern for this position is 5 days week (mon-fri) flexible.

 (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

We are looking for 2 physiotherapists to join our learning disabilities (LD) service – Glasgow NW (1.0 wte) and Glasgow South (0.8 wte). These posts will be based in the North West and South sector of Glasgow. These posts will be aligned with senior Physiotherapy staff to provide supervision and support. The LD physiotherapy service across NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde consists of 18 staff members including a skill mix of qualified and unqualified staff. The caseload comprises adults with learning disabilities and additional complex needs including, neuromuscular disorders e.g. Cerebral Palsy, genetic syndromes etc, mobility and movement difficulties and sensory processing disorders. These complex needs often require postural management solutions including wheelchair, seating, sleep systems, orthotics etc. We also offer rebound therapy and hydrotherapy.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary and integrated learning disability team which includes specialist nurses, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists and speech and language therapists and social workers. Training to clients and their parents, carers and support staff is a key part of this post. The posts are based in the North West at Glenkirk Centre & South Learning Disability Team. You should be educated to Degree or Diploma within Physiotherapy with an interest in working within the Learning Disability field, and you should hold registration with HCPC. You should be an excellent communicator, and have a desire to work within a community setting.

The advertised post are permanent with work hours spread over Monday to Friday.
