Band 5 - £30,229 - £37,664 pro rata

Plus £1,279 Distant Islands Allowance pro rata

We seek to recruit Registered Nurses to join our BANK nursing teams in our Hospitals and Community in Uist and Barra. Applicants must be NMC registered and can be from General Nursing or Mental Health with the main locations being Uist & Barra Hospital community hospital on the Isle of Benbecula and St Brendan’s a community hospital on the Isle of Barra. District nursing services are provided across all the Southern Isles. These bank posts offer successful candidates the opportunity for continuing professional development in diverse and varied settings in both community and hospital settings and the ability to work independently is desirable but not essential for both areas.


The key responsibilities of the role will be: the provision of professional nursing care, to meet the individual needs of the patient population and be accountable for the delivery of such care, the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care, and the facilitation and support of staff development in the hospital and community areas. Experience of nursing patients in an acute and/or community environment is essential. Evidence of ongoing professional development is essential.
