Our priority is always the same – to improve the health and well-being of the people of Scotland. We do this by working in partnership with colleagues across Health and Social Care to deliver fit for purpose solutions and systems, delivering high quality services that help our stakeholders to free up resources so they can be re-invested into essential services.

The Post:

As part of the Healthy Working Lives team and responsible to the Head of Healthy Working Lives, you will provide and develop a high-quality Occupational Health Service for all staff working for NSS, Public Health Scotland and our Service Users.  As part of this role, you will help lead, support and develop the delivery of our SLA’s to our Service Users, such as other National Health Boards.

Meeting and achieving national targets and initiatives are key for the successful delivery of the Occupational Health Service. You will need to work autonomously and manage your own workload, whilst working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team within Occupational Health.

Additionally, you will provide Occupational Health advice to managers in supporting their staff both in work and those returning to work.

The Candidate:

You will be required to be a registered nurse at level one with up-to-date registration with NMC. You should also hold additional Occupational Health qualifications.

You should have demonstrable experience in Occupational Health, with phlebotomy skills and the ability to work independently.

You must have in depth knowledge of occupational and safety issues that are priorities for the Health Service, for example sickness absence management, COSHH etc.

Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.

Location and Working Pattern:

Gyle Square, Edinburgh, and we currently operate a hybrid working model.

The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
