The post holder has professional and managerial responsibility for the service, on a 24-hour basis and has overall responsibility for both clinical and staff governance issues in Obstetrics and gynaecology theatres and recovery, RIE.
Ensure the highest standard of personalised care is delivered to patients and their families in partnership with all members of the multi disciplinary team.
Has overall responsibility for supervision of the assessment of care needs and the delivery and maintenance of optimal care outcomes.
The individual is expected to motivate staff to provide high standards of care by acting as a role model.
To support the Clinical Manager and deputise in his/her absence.
The post holder will be expected to participate in duty rosters consisting of day, late & weekend shift working. The post holder will be required to participate in on call rosters for Obstetrics and gynaecology theatres and recovery and the band 7 out of hours roster, which provide 24 hour cover over 7 days per week. There may be a service need to cover night duty
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
