Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
This is a substantive appointment as a Consultant Surgeon in Liver Transplantation and Organ Retrieval based in the Edinburgh Transplant Centre at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The post is currently available, but the start date will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate. The post involves 70% Liver Transplantation (implant, on call, duty weeks and outpatient clinics) and a 30% of time contribution to the multi-visceral abdominal organ retrieval for Retrieval Edinburgh (RED), as part of the National Organ Retrieval Service (NORS) contracted between NHSBT and NHS Lothian.
