Are you a dedicated and ambitious medical professional seeking to advance your career? We are currently seeking a passionate Foundation Year 2 (FY2) Doctor to join our dynamic surgical team for one year.
You require to have full registration with the GMC and hold a licence to practice in the UK, and you will have completed a minimum of Foundation Year 1 training. You must demonstrate commitment to professional development and continuous learning. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting. You will be provided with opportunities for professional development and you will work within a supportive environment with access to mentorship and training. There will be opportunities to contribute to research, teaching and to participate in a Quality Improvement (QI) project.
You will participate in the out of hours (on call) and the HDU rota, along with other duties that involve the clinical care of acute and elective admissions to the general surgical unit.
The successful applicant would be able to get exposure to surgical operating lists if desired, a supervised minor ops list monthly as well as the QI project (with a supervisor). There will be opportunities to be involved in teaching within the surgical department for both undergraduate and postgraduate. There is a weekly surgical teaching programme, a surgical skills club and monthly audit meeting. We would also offer you financial support for either a course or a conference of your choice.
