             Health Care Support Worker in Speech and Language Therapy (F/T)                      

Band:       3

Hours:       37 hours per week

Location: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Contract: Fixed Term of 12 months

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our established and supportive Acute Sector Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team.

This is an exciting full-time job opportunity.  The post-holder will support Speech and Language Therapists to work with adults presenting with a range of acquired speech, language, communication and / or eating, drinking and swallowing problems. This will involve a range of tasks from materials preparation to working directly with patients.  The focus for this post will be predominantly in-patients at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. 

We are a small, friendly team.  We hold regular meetings and continuing professional development (CPD) sessions. Support and supervision will be available from Speech and Language Therapists within the team.

It is essential that candidates have experience of working in a health or caring environment, and specific experience of working with people with communication difficulties is highly desirable.

We are planning to hold interviews on Monday 24th June.
