CLINICAL NURSE PRACITIONER
Band 6 : 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an additional enthusiastic, experienced and suitable qualified Clinical Nurse Practitioner to work in the Cancer Assessment Unit of the WGH. The ward is situated within Edinburgh Cancer Centre and provides assessment, triage and management of patients with all types of cancers, including haematology. The service also provides ambulatory care for patients requiring diagnostic procedures and therapies associated with their condition e.g paracentesis, imaging, vascular access (including the placement of PICC lines) and other out-patient therapies (excluding chemotherapy). The successful applicant will be supporting the Senior Charge Nurse and Medical team to deliver care for this specialised group of patients.
The successful applicant will be educated to degree level with previous experience in the care of Oncology patients. Evidence of further study within the specialty is desirable.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
