We are currently seeking to recruit a 19.8 hour Facilities Assistant to join our team in Lawson Hospital. This post will be based in Lawson Hospital, however the successful applicant will require to cover, all NHS Sites in the local geographical area, including Health Centres if required.


The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness are maintained in line with local infection control policies, Covid 19 guidance and maintaining compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification, and Waste Regulations.


Catering duties include regeneration of meals and preparation of salads, sandwiches and snacks.


The successful applicant will be required to cover, when required, all NHS Sites in the local geographical area, a fleet vehicle is available for travelling to sites, access to economical public transport is also acceptable.


This post can be worked on a 2 week roster, working one weekend in two and the working hours can be flexible working between the hours of 0700 and 2100.

Rates of pay from £11.98 an hour with an attractive weekend working rate.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
