Trainee Senior Information Analyst Hospitals, Mental Health & Child Health and Performance & Outcomes
Permanent, full-time 37 hours per week
Band 5 (£30,229 - £37,664)

You should have highly developed skills in: information extraction and manipulation of large datasets; application of relevant statistical approaches to complex problems; identification of data patterns; predictive modelling; information interpretation and data visualisation skills. The post offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of stakeholders such as Public Health consultants, acute sector colleagues and local authorities, along with other health boards and national health bodies.

This post will provide intelligence for planning and performance improvement for all aspects of acute, mental health and child health care, particularly in hospital settings. This will include the completion and quality control of National routine deliverables, ad-hoc requests, collation of materials for performance reports and opportunities to develop skills including querying data via SQL and building dashboards in Tableau.
The post-holder will produce and explain intelligence relating to, hospital activity, waiting lists and other topics.
Demonstrable technical skills in Microsoft packages, analytical and interpretation skills will be essential to command support and respect from customers, and influence decision-making with verbal and written evidence and well-developed reasoning.
This post is a training post and you are offered the post under Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, Section 2 (ii). You will be paid at Band 5, this is the Band for the training period. Once you have achieved all relevant qualifications and competencies you will move to Band 6. The expected qualifications and competencies will be outlined in the prescribed development programme to be achieved within a maximum of 12 month period. If you do not meet the requirements in the required timescale, you will remain at Band 5.
