The shift pattern for this post is Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join the McMillian Head and Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist team in the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The team provide a specialist nursing service to support a caseload of patients with head and neck cancer in an outpatient, inpatient, day care and community setting. The post holders are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, providing and facilitating effective care and treatment for patients and their significant others.  

The post holder will have extensive Head & Neck nursing knowledge and expertise in the support of patients with head and neck cancer, throughout the disease trajectory, from diagnosis, through treatment, cure or palliation.  

The post holder is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, providing and facilitating effective care and treatment for patients and their significant others. This is achieved directly through the role of expert practitioner, role model and patient advocate, and indirectly through the role of innovator, change agent, consultant, teacher, supervisor and researcher. The post holder will provide a supportive specialist nursing service to support a caseload of patients with head and neck cancer in an outpatient, inpatient, day care and community setting.
