Job Title:                  StR LAT

  Department:             Paediatric Cardiology

Location:                  Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow


An opportunity has arisen for 12 month LAT post in paediatric cardiology, which will commence on 7th August 2024. Applicants will ideally have completed Level 1 or Core paediatric training, but applicants with ST1/2 level paediatric experience will be considered. This post is most relevant to individuals who intend a career in paediatric cardiology, but can potentially be modified to suit those who intend a career in paediatrics.

The LAT in paediatric cardiology presents an excellent opportunity for individuals who intend a career in the specialty to complete a year of ST4 training which is formally recognised by the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board. It is accredited by National Education for Scotland (NES) which delivers the paediatric cardiology curriculum. Documented competencies achieved through the LAT post may also count towards a CESR / Portfolio Pathway application.

Applicants must possess full GMC registration and a licence to practice. The post holds Educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR APPOINTMENT TO A LAT POST APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE PERSON SPECIFICATION CRITERIA. THOSE APPLICANTS INELIGIBLE FOR A LAT POST WILL STILL BE CONSIDERED FOR A CLINICAL FELLOW APPOINTMENT.
