Spotlight on East Lothian Older Adult Mental Health Team:


Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OACMHT) is a multi-disciplinary team, made up of Mental Health Nurses, occupational therapist, psychiatrists and psychologists. The core purpose of the Community Mental Health Teams is to establish, maintain and develop a comprehensive response to meet the changing needs of our identified client group and their carer’s. Our general aim is to facilitate and participate in client centred holistic care.

We do this by providing mental wellbeing assessments, support, care and treatment to all adults over 65 years of age, including dementia diagnosis and post diagnostic support.

We also host Alzheimer’s Scotland Post Diagnostic Support Link Workers who provide support to people who are newly diagnosed with dementia and meet the 5 pillars model.
