Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern is Monday - Friday.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Band 6 Occupational Therapist within our Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OPCMHT) at Shawmill Resource Centre in South Glasgow.

The successful candidate will become part of a small Occupational Therapy team within the CMHT, providing a core occupational therapy service including specialist assessment and treatment. Where clinically appropriate occupational therapy staff are also involved in carrying out initial mental health assessments. Duties also include coordinating the allocation of referrals to Occupational Therapy, ensuring any waits are minimised through effective caseload management, supervision of junior staff members and accepting students for Practice Based Learning.

It is essential you have Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Therapy with significant post graduate experience and current HCPC registration. You should also have previous experience of working in a Mental Health setting with the ability to demonstrate a sound application of the core skills of the profession and their application within an older adult mental health setting. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.

Regular clinical and professional supervision will be provided, CPD is supported and profession specific training opportunities are provided within Mental Health Occupational Therapy in NHSGG&C.
