This post will mainly be based at Raigmore Hospital and will provide a professional and comprehensive administrative and secretarial service to the Acute Nutrition and Dietetic service, and then all members of the Nutrition and Dietetic service when required. The Nutrition and Dietetic department in Raigmore is a busy and friendly team, who see inpatients and out patients and liaise with clinicians, support services and catering to optimise the nutritional outcomes for patients. The team secretary provides a vital function in supporting this to happen efficiently and is a valued member of the department.

The Nutrition and Dietetic Department in one team across the whole of north Highland and you will be part of an administrative team that work together. As such you will get support, training and advice in the systems and ways of working across the department. 

You should be:

Educated to Standard Grade or equivalent in English and Mathematics
Have two years experience in administrative/secretarial work, preferably in Health Service environment.
Have well developed interpersonal and communication skills
Computer skills – word/excel/internet/email/access/power point etc
The ability to work with limited supervision with own initiative but also part of a team
The ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
Have good organisational skills and time management

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
