An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Highly Specialist Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our enthusiastic team specialising in rheumatology and long term condition management.  This post sits within our Outpatient Service within Perth Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will have the skills to lead and progress service development in a busy environment within a supportive specialist outpatient team.

They will have extensive experience and be highly skilled in the delivery of rheumatology assessment and long term condition management. They will have excellent communication and decision making skills and have a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary team working within an integrated Health and Social Care setting.

 Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy Service provides excellent formal and informal supervision, actively supports individual development through performance development review and learning plans, provide a framework for encouraging CPD and promotes innovative practice.

In line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, the Allied Health Professions, will be moving towards 7 day working.  This is for improved outcomes and to maximise a person-centred equitable approach to care.  Therefore all new contracts for AHP staff will be for a 5 out of 7 day service/rota to enable the service to be ready to move to a safe and effective 7 day service.

Hours of work:  31.6 hours.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
