An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated enthusiastic and experienced health care professional to join the Advanced Critical Care Practitioner team within the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. We are looking for a committed practitioner to join an established team within the Critical Care department.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the West of Scotland Heart and Lung Centre providing specialist care to Scotland’s patient population requiring Cardiothoracic services. Our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a 22 bedded unit which supports regional adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, regional interventional cardiology and national advanced heart failure (including mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant) and adult congenital cardiac services.

This vacancy demands excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. Your personal qualities should include excellent organisation skills together with a positive approach and the ability to work autonomously within a busy team. Ongoing professional development and the ability to adapt to the diverse and variable demands of caring for patients within a fast-paced environment.

Suitable candidates will be from a professional group with a governing body (e.g. nurse, pharmacist or physiotherapist). Candidates who have completed an Advanced Critical Care Practitioner training programme and achieved FICM ACCP membership will be appointable to a trained post. Candidates without previous training will be required to complete two years of full time training (as an Annex 21 contract) before being able to contribute to 24/7 cover in the Cardiac Intensive Care unit.
