NHS Forth Valley Medical Physics Department is seeking a competent, experienced and enthusiastic technician engineer to support existing staff in delivering a comprehensive equipment management service to hospitals within NHS Forth Valley.

The current service is delivered across all of NHS Forth Valley from the medical Physics Department based in the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

You will be part of a team providing an equipment management service to N.H.S Forth Valley. The post will provide support to the general equipment management service throughout NHS FV as required. This will include Commissioning, installation, repair and routine maintenance to the wide range of medical equipment found in Theatres, ITU, CCU, Neonatal Units, Cardiology Ophthalmology and other clinical departments within the area.

The department operates a registered Quality Management System to BSI ISO9001:2015 and it is expected that the post holder will undertake duties associated with the quality system.

An asset management database is used to manage the equipment and the post holder will be expected to use this system.

Qualifications: HNC / HND /Degree in Applied Physics or Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Practical experience in maintaining and repairing electro-medical equipment in a healthcare setting, dependant on qualification held by post holder.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Standard Police Act Disclosure Scotland Check.

This post will also be considered as in training position under Annex 21 of the Agenda for Change terms & conditions.
