Edinburgh Haematology Centre - Day Treatment
37 hours per week
Western General Hospital
Based in Scotland’s capital City the Edinburgh Cancer Centre has a worldwide reputation for the provision of high-quality evidence-based cancer care and research.
The Edinburgh Haematology Centre has recently undergone a significant upgrade to accommodate the service. Last year the unit moved to a purpose-built facility providing care in an extended day case area to facilitate the transfer of care from an in-patient to out-patient model. The unit provides care for mainly malignant haematological conditions and is the Regional autologous stem cell transplant unit for the South-East of Scotland. Additionally, we are aiming to become a centre delivering CAR-T cellular therapy.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner or an experienced nurse who is prepared to undergo the appropriate training at SQA Level 11 via Queen Margaret University to deliver comprehensive specialist haematological care for our patients, ensuring the highest standard of person-centred nursing care is delivered in partnership with all members of the multi-disciplinary team (Trainee Post will be employed under Annex 21).
The successful applicant will preferably have experience either within a Haematology or Oncology setting and having undertaken the Clinical Decision Making course or an equivalent at SQA Level 10. Leadership and managerial skills are essential and change management and service redesign experience will be advantageous.
