We have an opportunity for 2 Health Care Support Workers to come and join our team.  (each post 31.6 hours per week)

The Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology Unit is a dynamic and efficient department delivering services to both inpatients and out patients. 

This post involves working alongside Sonographers and Radiologists, chaperoning during ultrasound scan lists and assisting during invasive procedures, keeping the Radiology Information System up to date and ensuring the room is clean, stocked and ready for use for each patient.

We are looking for positive and organised individuals who have excellent communication skills and are able to quickly build a rapport with patients. The successful candidates will need to be caring and compassionate and must enjoy working with members of the public whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.  They must be adaptable to be able to meet the demands of the service and enjoy working as part of a team.

We are a small supportive department that works closely with the Medical team, Radiographers, Sonographers, Nuclear Medicine Technicians and Physiotherapists. Working your shifts over 4 days, we are open Monday to Friday 0830-1700. Days worked will vary to meet the needs of the service.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
