We are keen to recruit to a suitably experienced Physiotherapist who is keen to develop their clinical knowledge and leadership skills at a higher level, to join the Physiotherapy team based within the Therapies department at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Or are you a band 5 nearing the completion of your rotations and looking for a step up into an Annexe 21 position? This would be a development post, over 12 months maximum, to achieve the transition between band 5 and band 6 levels of knowledge, skills and competencies. You would join the Band 6 rotations and following a learning gap analysis, you would be expected to be committed to completing all the required competencies and CPD activities deemed essential for your development.
You would be working in Medical, Surgical including CCU, Orthopaedics, MSK, Community, Care of the Elderly and Rehabilitation including Stroke care. You would rotate every 9 months.
Full support is given within each unit from the Team Leader and other staff members. You must be a good team worker but also be able to work independently without direct supervision. CPD is encouraged. This allows you time and resources, as appropriate, to support your learning growth development.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged. More details can be obtained from recruitment.
You will be expected to work your hours between Monday and Friday. You will be expected to work on the weekend rota to ensure 7 day service for DGRI. In addition you will participate in the weekday and weekend overnight on call rota. This will be discussed at interview as we have an ever changing service delivery model.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
