Job Advert

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.

These are 2 Fixed term posts for 18 months. There will be 1x Fulltime and 1x Part time (up to 23 hrs.)

The post-holder hours will be discussed at the interview. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

The NHS GGC Workforce Employability Team has a new opportunity to join our team as a Workforce Employability Coach supporting our work within the NHSGGC Workforce Strategy supporting widening access and employability functions.

The post-holders will support the Workforce Employability Officers duties and be responsible for a case-managed cohort of candidates. They will support candidates from pre-appointment and throughout their career journey. They will also offer support and advice to service managers and colleagues across all NHSGGC sites and liaise with internal and external partners and stakeholders.

The duties will be varied, stimulating and rewarding and will involve activity across a broad range of NHS GGC services.  The role ideally requires someone with experience of working as an Employability Coach, has case management experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to work to deadlines and experience working with a range of internal partners and stakeholder organisations. The post-holder should demonstrate the behaviours and attitudes that reflect NHS values and, importantly, have a genuine passion for widening access to the NHS workforce.

You should be educated to SCQF level 8 or have demonstrable equivalent experience in employability and/or NHS experience. Applicants are required to have proficient administration and IT skills, adhere to reporting deadlines and strict compliance procedures.
