NHS Ayrshire and Arran were successful in the bid to host the National Secure Adolescent Inpatient services for young people aged between 12 and their 18th birthday who present a level of risk and we are now moving towards the finalisation of the build and the clinical model with the expectation that the service will accepting the first young people into the service in Late 2023.
We are excited to announce that we are now inviting forward thinking, motivated nurses RMN (Registered Mental Health) and RLDN (Registered Learning Disability Nurses) who have an understanding of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and/or Forensic Mental health with relevant experience.
You will be based at Foxgrove National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service within Ayrshire Central Hospital and will join and work alongside the Service Manager and clinical team to assist in completion of the final development of pathways and processes, whilst having the opportunity to build the culture and ethos of the service prior to its opening in Late 2023.
As a medium secure unit all patients will be specified under the mental health act and therefore will be subject to both personal and property searches regularly - this should be conducted by a member of the same sex as per mental welfare commission guidance.
In the very extreme circumstances where a patient is presenting as a significant risk to themselves and others they will also require the use of seclusion. If in seclusion 2 nursing staff will be required to maintain observations at all times, one of these staff should be the same sex as the patient.
We are therefore seeking applications from male RMN and RLDN nurses to ensure we can meet the requirements above.
4 Posts – 37 hours per week
1 Post – 18.75 hours per week
All posts are permanent.
A recruitment and retention premia of £2,092 per annum is payable in addition of annual salary.
