We are looking for a dynamic band 5 physiotherapist to join our learning disabilities (LD) service. The Learning disability service provides input to 3 Community Learning Disability Teams across Forth Valley as well as input into the inpatient unit at Lochview in Larbert. The post is ideal for those looking to develop their skills and experience and will be based alongside senior Physiotherapy staff to provide supervision and support.
The LD physiotherapy caseload comprises of adults with a learning disability and additional complex needs including, neuromuscular disorders e.g. Cerebral Palsy, genetic syndromes, mobility and movement difficulties, respiratory and sensory processing disorders. These complex needs often require postural management solutions including wheelchair, seating, sleep systems, orthotics etc.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary and integrated learning disability team which includes; dietitians, specialist nurses, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, speech and language therapists and social workers.
Training to clients and their parents, carers and support staff is a key part of this post.
You should be educated to Degree or Diploma within Physiotherapy with an interest in working within the Learning Disability field, and you should hold registration with HCPC.
You should be an excellent communicator, and have a desire to work within a community setting.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
This is a permanent post with 37 hours; these hours will be worked Monday to Friday.
