Join NHS Tayside’s Staff Bank as a Vaccination Nurse.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for General Practice Nurses to join NHS Tayside’s Staff Bank and support the Central Vaccination Service as Vaccination Nurses.
As part of NHS Tayside’s Public Health Directorate, the Central Vaccination Service plays a key role in health protection and health promotion. In collaboration with other services and through a multidisciplinary approach, the Central Vaccination Service provides expert advice and delivery of all vaccines provided by the NHS. The team deliver several vaccination programmes to all ages across Tayside, including in community-based clinics, as well as in care homes and through home visits. With our commitment to person centred care and tackling health inequalities, we have strong links and work in collaboration with other community outreach teams through our inclusivity group.
We are eager to recruit reliable and dependable GPNs who display excellent communication skills and are committed to delivering high quality safe and effective person-centred care, working both individually and within the wider team.
The role of Bank Vaccination Nurse is to supplement the core Vaccination Team during busy campaigns, particularly during the Autumn/Winter COVID-19 & Flu campaign.
There will be the opportunity to book shifts over a 12 week period, with various shift patterns available to accommodate flexible working.
The Staff Bank centrally co-ordinates bank shifts for all nursing and midwifery services across NHS Tayside through an electronic booking system allowing bank workers to view and book their shifts through a computer or mobile device.
You will have the opportunity to support clinics in localities across Tayside, including:

- Forfar

There is a new streamlined training pathway which is mainly delivered through remote, independent online learning (about 3-4hours), followed by a period of support and supervision during your first bank vaccination shift, this will be tailored to each individuals previous experience.
Interested candidates are required to evidence on application, awareness of the Staff Bank function and individual commitment to being part of our supplementary workforce. Applicants are required to evidence current NMC Registration in the application form and at point of interview.
