Evidence and evaluation is critical in the implementation and spread of improvement as part of a multi-disciplinary approach. We are looking for a highly experienced individual with a passion for improvement in health and social care who can lead the team in the delivering quality specialist evidence and evaluation support to a wide range of programmes across Health and Social Care.

EEvIT provides evidence synthesis, evaluation and knowledge mobilisation support for quality improvement and service redesign teams across Healthcare Improvement Scotland. EEvIT works with improvement teams to:

  • support the capture and sharing of learning to enable spread

This is a significant role, providing key line management and leadership to the team.

Potential post holders will have engaging and authentic leadership and interpersonal skills and an ability to work closely with senior leaders to develop successful collaborations across health and social care, with a focus on the community, and the third and independent sectors. You will be required to ensure that a broad range of credible, expert advice from a range of disciplines and specialist areas is available to inform all aspects of our work (intelligence gathering, evaluation, learning and spread).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Line management, supervision and strategic guidance of the EEvIT, which is made up of a range of specialists
  • Develop the EEvIT approach to scoping, contracting and project managing both internal and external support requests
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of internal customer needs and adapt EEvIT’s services to maximise value to the changing needs of the organisation

  • Develop effective processes to support knowledge capture and sharing within the organisation
  • Support EEvIT’s transition to the Evidence directorate
  • Represent the organisation on internal and external groups and fora, ensuring the link between evidence and improvement is understood, that the work of EEvIT is known within appropriate fora and influencing how internal and external partners develop approaches to the combination of evidence and improvement

Candidates are required to be educated to degree level and either hold a master’s degree in a relevant subject or equivalent knowledge and experience in improving services in health and social care.
