An exciting opportunity for a Consultant Clinical Scientist - Head of Treatment Planning & Mould Room in the Oncology Physics department at Edinburgh Cancer Centre to provide strategic leadership and operational management of radiotherapy treatment planning services.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Consultant Clinical Scientist – Head of Treatment Planning & Mould Room. We are seeking an experienced physicist to lead the treatment planning and mould room teams consisting of Clinical Scientists, Advanced Practitioner Clinical Technologists, Specialist Clinical Technologists and Therapeutic Radiographers rotating through treatment planning. You should have proven experience in treatment planning of advanced techniques and have evidence of management, leadership and project management skills. You will be a Medical Physics Expert certificated through RPA 2000, and a registered Clinical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council.

The department has a number of exciting developments planned over the next 12 months, such as the introduction of RapidPlan, Velocity and Insightive which this post holder will be expected to be the strategic and operational lead on.

You should have research experience and be able to contribute to the department’s Research and Development programme, teaching and training of physics, radiography and medical staff and the overall management of the Oncology Physics Department.
