Post Title: Vietnamese Sessional Interpreter

Pay: £16 or £20 per hour dependant on qualifications

We have a number of opportunities for experienced sessional interpreters to provide a professional interpretation service.


When completing your statement of support, please indicate which language you are fluent in, and if you possess a Diploma in Public Sector Interpreting.


As mentioned, you should possess the Diploma Public Sector Interpreting (DPSI) or demonstrate the equivalent skill level gained through experience. You must be fluently bilingual with the appropriate training and experience to be able to interpret with consistency and accuracy what is being said between our patients and our staff in a health care setting.


You must evidence relevant experience of working as an interpreter in a public sector, advocacy or legal environment. Applications are also welcomed from candidates from private sector organisations who possess the appropriate level of qualification and/or experience.  As sessional Interpreters will work in a variety of settings:  Hospital, Health Centre/ Clinics and patient homes; empathy, confidentiality and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.


Applicants who do not possess DPSI qualification will also be required to attend and pass a four day training course and complete a series of pre assignment checks including referencing,  and a language test.
