NHS Highland is seeking to recruit an exceptional individual to fill the role of Head of Operations Women and Children's Directorate.
NHS Highland is geographically the largest Health Board in Scotland, serving a population of 320,000 people across a large and sparsely populated geographical area.
NHS Highland and Highland Council form the unique Highland Health and Social Care Partnership focussed on delivering health and care services to Children and Adults through a Lead Agency Partnership arrangement with the two organisations working in concert to deliver the highest quality person centred integrated care through a whole system approach.
The Head of Operations for the Women and Children's Directorate will work to support the Chief Officer (Acute) to deliver high quality care for Women and Children by providing senior management and leadership capability and capacity to support the ongoing transformation of service models through integrated partnership working with Highland Council. This transformation will embrace innovation and opportunities presented by new technology and the digital age to meet the emerging needs of the Highland population.

The Acute Service provides a complex range of services across the population of NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute. We are now seeking to strengthen our management team through the appointment to this post.
As a Senior Manager, the post holder will be accountable to the Chief Officer (Acute) for the operational management of the broad range of services delivered through the Women and Children's Directorate, including CAMHS, NDAS, Acute and Community Midwifery services, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Paediatric and Neonatal Unit Services. The successful candidate will ensure resources are maximized to meet the NHS Highland Together We Care Strategy including performance metrics, targets and objectives and that service provision is underpinned by NHS Highland cultural values to deliver person centred care and build a culture of dignity and respect.
Educated to degree level or equivalent with a demonstrable track record of success in a senior management position within a complex environment, preferably in the NHS and with extensive senior management experience, through which in-depth, professional knowledge over a range of disciplines will have been developed.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
