The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Fri.  (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

This post presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual with advanced diabetes clinical skills to lead the Diabetes Service in Clyde. You will be a confident committed and dynamic clinical leader who is driven by challenges and demonstrates personal resilience. You will provide clinical, managerial and professional leadership, working in partnership with the stakeholders of Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will be involved in the strategic review of clinical services and have responsibility for implementing and supporting a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care, encompassing new treatments and evidence based care The role maintains clinical duties and as a specialist with advanced skills in diabetes management, you will be expected to be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, as a clinical expert and autonomous practitioner. You will also support and govern the performance of the specialist nurse and dietetic team.

The post holder will manage an appropriate, accessible, high quality, culturally sensitive and effective clinical service for individuals with diabetes, working in partnership with the senior management teams of Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Primary and Secondary Care. You will be accountable for the operational and strategic management of the Diabetes Specialist Team across the Clyde Sector, including RAH, IRH and Vale of Leven Hospitals and Renfrewshire Primary Care. This includes responsibility for professional performance, resource allocation and clinical activity. Essential Criteria Relevant post graduate qualification. Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning Recognised as an expert in the field of diabetes with an ability to clinically assess diagnose and deliver high quality and appropriate care. Able to work autonomously as an independent practitioner and support the practice of the multi-disciplinary team. Relevant experience of managing or leading a Team and leading service change Be an effective communicator with a proven ability to influence all levels of staff and manage change Demonstrate a commitment to continuous service development and quality improvement and have an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and targets
