A vacancy has arisen in the Neonatal Unit, Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy for a Band 5 Staff Nurse. (Registered Child Branch)
We are a local neonatal unit, consisting of 4 ITU, 2 High Dependency and 11 Special Care cots.
At present we have 4 qualified Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners in post and 2 trainee ANNPS.
We are a forward thinking unit. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to undertake Foundations in Neonatal Care modules.
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our team of staff. You must possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work within the team as well as on your own initiative.
You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care and use a holistic approach to family centred care.
An up to date knowledge of evidence based practise and a commitment to the delivery of clinically effective care within neonates is essential. You must have a recognised clinical qualification and your NMC registration (or working towards this) and evidence of on-going professional development. Flying Start should have been commenced on qualifying.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
