The Post:
This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow the Information Security & Governance department within the Digital and Security directorate of National Services Scotland. We are looking for an outstanding candidate who can help to direct, develop and mature this team to ensure it contributes to the positive impact the NHS and the wider public sector can have on all of our citizens.
The role will lead and drive the development and delivery of an enterprise service for Information and Cyber Security, Information Governance and Risk Management, by providing professional and expert leadership and building close and effective working relationships with key stakeholder and customers across the NHS and wider Public Sector.
The post of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) will report directly into the Director of Digital and Security and will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of services that drives whole system behavioral change, facilitates Information and Cyber Security policies across health and social care and delivers significant value creation through the development of a shared service capability that can be replicated and implemented across the NHS in Scotland and other Public Sector organisations.
The Candidate:
This is a challenging and highly rewarding position which will require the successful candidate to have outstanding strategy, leadership and influencing skills. The ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and communicate your vision and ideas in a clear and concise manner is essential. You must be highly results oriented but achieve those results working in partnership and with a keen eye for political sensitivity and the need to work as a team. It is vital that you espouse the values of NSS with openness, integrity, respect and care being at the heart of those values.
Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline with a post-graduate qualification/certification in an IT related field or significant demonstrable experience in these areas.
Location:
The role has a permanent location based in Glasgow or Edinburgh but flexible working will allow the post holder to operate from a remote location on a regular basis. The post holder must be prepared to attend the fixed location at the request of the organisation when deemed essential.
Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday 37 hours per week
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
