Argyll & Bute are looking to support our Orthotic service by hiring a Bank Orthotist.

Our current service is mostly out sourced to Buchanan Orthotics.

This post requires the Orthotist to be able to demonstrate a sound clinical knowledge and skill set.

Have experience dealing with diverse clinical caseloads of varying complexities and supporting the management of patients through evidence based practice.

All applicants should be able to demonstrate experience and confidence in working independently but also as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, along with the ability to organise and prioritise your workload.

Must have BSc (Hons) degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics and registered with HCPC

This is a Bank position through out Argyll and Bute, clinics are located in Helensburgh, Dunoon, Bute, Oban, Lochgilphead and Campbeltown.

Cover will be offered based on waiting list management, however, our primary clinic is Helensburgh.

Use of own car is needed for when NHS Pool cars are unavailable.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
